GeoVoCampMadrid 2012 was held successfully. It was a very productive meeting that resulting the next version of the NeoGeo specification. The 2 days event, was attended by several geospatial data enthusiasts. There are five people from all over Europe; Germany, France and Spain, representing numerous European projects.
The meeting was held at the campus of The National Distance Education University (UNED) in Madrid, Spain to work on vocabularies for geospatial data, and methods and best practices for publishing geospatial data as Linked Data. The Madrid GeoVoCamp was co-aligned with another camp in Santa Barbara, USA. The event had a coordination session with the Santa Barbara camp via video conference.
The results of the VoCamp are:
- Updated NeoGeo spec (Madrid Edition)
- PHP scripts for publishing NeoGeo based on Shapefiles loaded into PostGis
- http://test.linkedgeodata.org/ uses now the distinction between Feature and Geometry and links to GADM
- Geometry2rd now supports shape files
